About Guest House

The location was close to the train station and was located in a an uphill area which was slightly difficult to find. Google map helped me to find the correct location of the guest house. The facilities of the guest house is great and is very safe and convenient. Highly recommend it.

The manager had asked me to pay in cash upon check in despite having made the payment online. He was finding it difficult to explain as his English was limited. He later realised after having rechecked my booking online that I had already made the payment online. He was very nice and cordial throughout after that.

The location is near the subway station and the room is cozy, clean and comfortable. And Jerry is super kind and willing to give travel suggestions. Nice stay!

Toilet was clean, and room was cozy. Basic amenities were present.

Walking distance is 4 min (390 m) from “Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Station (Exit 4)” to Hotel (the hotel is located on slop (manageable)). Exit 4 is closest to the hotel but need to climb long stairs so quite tire if with heavy luggage. I recommend to use Exit 1 (near Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP)). Searching for “K-Guesthouse” building and just straight heading it (but you should walk on the other side of the road) and on the way you will walk passing Exit 9 & 10 and finally Exit 4 (near “7-11 store”). Also, you will crossing 2 inter-sections (with traffic light) on the way. Turn left and walking up the sloppy road just before Hyundai shop (opposite K-Guesthouse’s building). Follow the bigger road and up the slop until you see the “curve mirror” and CCTV and turn left again (you somehow will walk down a slop if you walk further). The hotel is on the left 20 meter after you made the left turn. Near to “Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Station” [4 min (390 m)] which is the transfer station for 3 lines, i) Blue (Line 4); ii) Green (Line 2); and iii) Purple (Line 5). It also quite near to “Dongguk Univ. Station” [7 min (647 m)] (Line 3 - Orange). Wifi is excellent (each room with its domain). The staff are very friendly and very helpful and know minimal English language. Free to refill bottles of water as the pantry is equipped with water filter machine. Also, self-service light breakfast is available from 9-11am (bread + jam + butter + boiled egg + coffee was provided). You can buy cup ramen (noodle) to cook if you wish to. Toilet were clean daily and looked modern and new. Toiletries of shampoo, body soap, conditioner, and hand soap was provided. And, a hair dryer. The room was with simple decoration with wood flooring and on wall (up to waist level). And, the bed was clean, cozy and comfortable. The hotel was quiet but not sound proof as we able to hear other guest talking when they back to their room. The air-conditioner cum heater was working...

Breakfast was too simple. It will be good with more choices for breakfast like cup ramen, hot dog, ham or omelette. To install more clothes hanger and additional light in the bathroom for light reading and phone browsing. Owner to provide better direction on how to get to his hotel from MRT station.

SOO was so helpful. I arrived around 11:30pm. She was still there to wait for me, which was surprised to me. She also helped with my luggage. When I left, she prepared a paper box for me to easy carry my lunch, which is considerate. The room was nice and even has a balcony. Everywhere was so clean and in order. The environment was quiet. But it’s very easy to get access to the most famous shopping area-Dongdaemoon I enjoyed staying at About Guesthouse.

Jerry, the manager is super nice. What is important to realize that this is a mostly self service guesthouse, which means making your own breakfast (and doing the dishes) and washing your own clothes. If that is understood this is a great place to stay.

I really love the cleanliness and how cozy it is. I felt like staying home. A short walk from Airport Limousine Bus busstop. Near to 3 subway lines, very easy to move around. I will definitely come back to About!

The staff was really nice! They even cooked their tradition korean soup during the new year for us. Toilet was clean and room was nice.

The room is too small and squeezy. Not enough place to walk after putting luggage but they are thinking of making a space for the people to put their luggage. A little pricey too >< Beside that everything is good!!!

Wonderful stay! Simple yet tasty breakfast. Very very clean. Warm and chic! 3 rooms on 2nd floor and I hear no noise, that's cool!
